Pulled Together

My magnets are aching.
Yes, I said magnets.
They’re all over my body.
Some are under a few layers of skin
while others are buried deep in my organs.
(a significant amount reside in my left ventricle)

My magnets ache for your magnets.
My skin wants to be right next to yours
and my left ventricle wants
to function in rhythm with yours.

When we’re nearby
my magnets plead with me
to get closer to you.
Of course, I tell them.
I’d feel this pull
even without magnets.
