These Strings Can’t Unravel

We are a spider’s silver web
binding in the kindest of ways.
Delicate yet resilient.
Extending far enough
to be frail.

I worry the rain,
or a breeze even,
will break these fragile strands
again.

We can always rebuild,
we have,
but this will be harder.
It’s more intricate
than it once was.
It takes the willingness of time.

I keep reading this over and over. I really like it.

love the newness of an old metaphor for a relationship. You made this fresh and I was drawn to: “extending far enough to be frail” which is a great image and detail. You are talented and it is a joy to explore and read your poetry.
